Bonjour Forum!
I am a newbie to the forums, and I’ve been having a great time reading your discussions on everything! It sounds like a lively debate, and I’m excited to find some people that are willing to discuss things!
I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on W’s tour of Europe and his rekindled relationship with Chirac over Syria.
Personally, I am glad that he’s started to (although half-heartedly) renew Transatlantic relations. I know he’s only doing it for selfish reasons (maybe the fact that he can’t conquer the evildoers w/o them??? evildoers = biggest joke ever), any diplomacy is welcomed at this point, in my book.
Any thoughts?

holmgirl15: Bonjour. I agree that Bush going to Europe was a good move. Communication is a good thing even though Bush is an embarrassment when he tries it. I fear that this Nation is regressing and Bush being in the White House is an example of how far down the Nation is going. The best that the Dems could put up was Liveshot Kerry – another example of the US sliding down that slope. Donerail
Looks like more tragedy in Irak. Innocent people should not get killed at checkpoints – especially a high profile case involving the Italian journalist/hostage. I am sure the Calipari team was intent on getting her out of that savage country and back to safety as quickly as possible. The US soldiers were probably just as intent on staying alive and trying to intercept the homocide bombers. Bottom line, another patriot is dead. Donerail
Hillary in 2008? your thoughts????
I am mixed, but I’d like to hear what others think!
Could happen.I hope to hell it dont but it could. I havent seen any person id vote for lately.I think the only people i would even vote for on ether side is mc cain, or eddwards.Thats a bout it.
holmgirl15: Although Hillary would be preferable to what we have now, I think it would be a poor selection by the Democratic Party and a probable disaster for the nation. Her credentials consist of being a lying and opportunistic lawyer. Her performance at being the Health System wizard proved to be a political disaster. Her ethics and value system are probably no worse than Bill’s were – but Bill had an established track record of political and managerial strength and accomplishments. Hillary has the necessary drive but I just don’t think she has the political skill set necessary for the job. Plus – she is about as believable as John Kerry was and good ole Liveshot proved that he wasn’t too believable. Donerail
New York Magazine had an interesting article about Hillary a couple weeks ago. It was quite fascinating. I have my doubts about her running (I think it’s too close to Bill’s presidency and infidelity – which shouldn’t matter two bits about how a president does his job, but that’s another post for another time!), but this article was interesting. The lady who wrote it even said at the end that when she received the assignment, she was very very skeptical about Hillary running, but was presently surprised when she did her research. Apparently GOP and Dem alike (Even Trent Lott!) are impressed by her and work with her all the time on different bills.
As for the whole health care debacle, I think she got such a bad rap from the outset, that no matter what she decided to do, she would have failed. Apparently, if you are the First Lady, you have to sit on your hands and have no other ambition than decorating the White House for Christmas and other holidays. I am so sick of the "First Ladies should be seen and not heard" garbage that everyone just seems to love about sell-out Laura Bush… she makes me want to vomit. She is a disgrace to all women everywhere. But hey… what’s a GOP woman to do? Exactly… sell women down the river.
As I digress (sorry for the ranting tangent!), I will find a link to the New York Magazine article and I will post it. Have a great day all!

I still think she would ruin this country but thats just my opion.Like when she went to afgan to vist the troops and told them they where in a quamier(spelling sorry) i mean come on you dont do that. I just dont like her and dont trust her at all.To me she is as beliveable as John Kerry.I dont trust them as far as i can toss them.I like Laura Bush. She is nice hillary makes me sick.Dont get me worng i dont care to much for mr bush as well. But as i said this is just what i think.
homegirl: Laura Bush is a Stepford wife and her daughters are a bunch of hard drinking party animals. Unfortunately, many people in the USA think women should be seen and not heard, should stay in the kitchen, nursery and bedroom and do whatever a man tells them to do.
Love her or hate her, Hillary Clinton is a strong, intellegent, independant woman who isn’t afraid to tell you what she thinks and what she will do. Men hate her because she is a strong person with a strong personality. NO man pushes her around. And as the media is a male-dominated industry, there will always be plenty of negative articles on Hillary.
LVB: I think you are mis-reading most men. Let me try and help you out. Most men, in my humble opinion, dislike Hillary because she is a very opportunistic, lying, weasel of a lawyer. A very intelligent person but a complete phony. An empty bucket. Not much different from her husband (and most other politicians) except for one key trait – Bubba was able to compromise. I understand that Hillary is using the NY Senate seat as a politician’s Finishing School, and she probably has been improving. I think most of us have seen enough of Hillary to last a political lifetime. (By the way, the Bush twins are probably the most authentic of the Bush lot.) In summary, we just got finished trying to elect an empty suit with Kerry. I hope we don’t make the same mistake twice. Donerail
LVB:
You Go Girl!!! I am hoping Hillary and Obama run together. With Hillary for 8 years and then Obama taking over. Can the Disgusting Repugs (I mean Repubs) beat a white woman and a black man?
I agree with you, we will lose a lot of the white male vote, like in the Red States, but who cares, we wouldn’t have had their vote anyway.
The Blue State men we will lose some, but not the liberal-progressives. I think Clinton/Obama is a good combination.
Notice how they are already grooming Obama? Besides this country could use, "two for the price of one" right now. No matter what people think of Bill’s personal life, he WAS a good and effective president and is becoming quite the statesman…My personal feeling is I don’t care what he did in his personal life…think of all the hypocrical Repugs (Repubs) who are gays, marital cheats, etc. but still lamblast Bill for getting a blow job from a very willing participant. It would not be past the imagination to say that Monica was a Repug (Repub) plant to catch Bill as they knew his weakness…
She has moxy…and men definitely hate a woman who has brains and moxy…usually refer to a strong woman as a bitch. If it is a strong man, they say, he is a "hard taskmaster"…
Donerail:
Why do you spell Iraq, Irak? Any reason…I agree, another young life snuffed out…
Oddone:
You are the typical male I was speaking of in past correspondence. You can’t stand Hillary although your reasons are false. You like Laura…why, because she is what you perceive a good little "wifey" should act like and look like.
P.S. You had three misspellings…What part of the country do you hail from?
ikorrellim: Nice to see you back online!! Where have you been hiding out? Granted, there are many lovely places to hide out in Charleston, however it has become quite boring here now that crc and donerail have been banned by the admins. We need some lively discussion here to make the forums interesting again…
It would be wonderful to have a woman president, whether it be Hillary or another woman. Hillary is very in your face, she calls a spade a spade. If a man is strong and assertive then he is deemed intellegent and career minded. If a woman is the same, she is called arrogant, a b*tch. Men will never vote for a woman president, because it kills their ego to think that a "woman" could tell them what to do.
Clinton wasn’t an effective president. During his second term, Congress was controlled by Republicans and Clinton became a lame duck president. Besides that, there was this incident with the Chinese and Chinese donations for his re-election campaign, that involved Al Gore.
Personally, I could care less who gave Clinton a blow job. I don’t blame Hillary for steering clear of him in the bedroom! However, if Congress at that time had been controlled by the Democrats, you’d not of heard about Clinton’s peccadillos. It was a Republican witch hunt.
Do you know why Bush never cheated on his wife? Because no other woman would have him!
Let me give you the REAL spelling of Iraq:
V I E T N A M.
