Hello,
We were wondering if we should purchase our Tickets on the TGV now or when we get to France? Booking now from the States adds about $50 or more onto the price of the tickets. Handling fees, shipping fees…
We have heard from friends in Europe that we can walk up and get tickets, but my wife is concerned that we might not get on the train we need to if we wait. We are going to be traveling from Tours to Lyon on a Monday and there is only one HighSpeed train that meets our time constraints.
Any help would bwe appriciated!
Merci,
JAck

there’s a TGV station located right in Roissy CDG airport, and you can buy your ticket there of course.
As for the trains schedules and timetable, you may get it on http://www.sncf.fr (they have an english website).

4mcilvain: crc95 is right, you can purchase tickets at the TGV at CDG. It is a high speed train and you DO NEED reservations. I was going to chance it and pick them up there after getting off the plane. My wife said she would kill me, however, if the train was sold out. I bought our tickets while in the USA from Rail Europe. 1-888-451-RAIL. I don’t know if it saved my life but I am still here. Donerail
