Any suggestion for accomodation for a family of 4 (kids girl age 4 1/2, boy age 2 1/2) for Easter around Normandy, it doesn’t matter where it is as soon as it is not too far driving from the places we are planning to visit (Bayeux, Arromanches or Le Mont St Michael). We were planning to stay in a place centrall to all and drive to visit.
We are looking for something not too expensive 3-4 nights, we don’t mind a cottage, or a B&B. Kids don’t need an extra bedroom, we are looking for a bedroom with a double bed for us and a single bed for the kids, or something similar. We wouldn’t mind a cottage, but I suppose we’ll need to pay the full week.
Many thanks,
Mons

Mons: You might try the following sites: http://www.logis-de-france.fr; or http://www.gites-de-france.fr. There are others as well if you surf the web for normandy tourism. I’ve never been to normandy but it is on the list. Bon voyage. Donerail
Thanks Donerail. I;ll give it a try and let you know how I get on.
The suggestion above for Logis de France and/or the Gites de France are excellent. Note that the Gites de France site has a B&B section. That might be more helpful to you.
Also, directly above the forum window you will see the title France.com. If you click on that, you will go to a France.com search engine. They have hotels all over the country, including Bayeux and the entire Normandy area. We’ve reserved our hotel with them many times and the service is excellent. You’ll see a photo of the hotel and there should be comments from people who have stayed there. It’s very helpful.
Another site you might want to try is http://www.karenbrown.com/
This is the Karen Brown web site and it is B&Bs. Some are quite expensive, but you can do a search by price and sort those out. I haven’t used the service but have seen posts by others who have been happy with it.
Personal prejudice . . . out in the countryside, we usually use Logis de France. Lots of French people there; very nice restaurant and clean. A few have play areas for children and that would be on the web site.
If you’re only going for a few days and want something basic, stay at a Campanile. It’s a motel chain and they have adequate rooms, a nice restaurant and a playground for the kids. It is very family friendly and very inexpensive. They are usually near the Autoroutes so can be a bit noisy, but the playground might be worth it.
