New Year's in Paris

Hi, My husband and I are traveling to Europe for the Christmas
holidays and will be in Paris over New Year’s. Any advice?
What is customary for celebrating? Are any of the museums open?
Any ideas on the best places to spend New Year’s Eve? How
soon in advance do we need reservations??
