My wife and I are anticipating traveling to France in July. On 14 July we think we may be in the Rouen or Girverny areas. Are churches and museums open on Bastille Day?
Is there a general rule for all of France?

Hello,
Churches, being religious sites are not following the ‘Republican’ calendar for their opening and they will be open on July 14. So will be the American Art museum in Giverny, so you will be able to visit it and celebrate Bastille Day at the same time!
