You should plan on getting a Youth Rail Pass. See Eurail’s website. You will have a blast. Learn a little French. There is Spring skiing in the Alps, excellent museums in all the cities, French fashion, sports, etc. You are starting off good by doing some planning. Check out some tour books – Lonely Planet, Michelin, etc. Keep asking questions. Donerail
Thanks for the responce. I already know and understand quite a bit of French as it is. Two years(three by April)as a matter of fact. Right now my familiy is just looking to see what is around that we do. I will definatly look into those rail passes. Thanks again ~ Tierd student
Anyone else have any recomndations?
If you know where you are going, check point to point rail fares. Sometimes it is quite a bit cheaper than the pass. The pass is only useful if you are doing a LOT of train travel. All the info you need is at http://www.sncf.com which is the French rail web site. (Click on the British flag if you want the site in English.)
Do a Google search on France and then narrow it down from there. You’ll get thousands of entries, many excellent.
Here are a few web sites that may help.

WOW! Thats so much help! Thanks!
uneelevefatigue: Could you explain to me why you choosed this name? Just curious…
Montjoly.
CRC
why that name? It was just because when I first signed up with France.com I was in the middle of doing a research report for my French classe and I really wasn’t getting far in the ways of that research. Plus I was it was later on at night when I did sign up. ;P
une-because I’m female
eleve-because I was in my first formal year of studying the French language and culture
fatigue – (in the masculain singular because I didn’t know about ajectival agreement at the time I signed up) tired as explained above.
Hope that answered your question.
Une élève fatiguée: Very good answer, you’ve won the right to come to France, hoping you’re not tired any more, because it would be a pitty to come to France to sleep and rest…
Enjoy France…
justement je vais vendredi à Saint Laurent, any questions?
Montjoly.
Thanks for your permission. Any ideas on what to see?
Montjoly : lol @ crc973
Si tu as more photos, je suis très preneur.
CRC
une élève fatiguée: Well, I’m not living in France since 12 years, and it depends a lot on what you’re looking for ( history, food, fiesta…). What do you like?
crc973: ok pour les photos, Ã lundi.
Montjoly.
My family is pretty diverse. I’m more for the historical/art angle. Thanks for your help.
Could you and your two friends please not talk on here anymore. Its really annoying.
Montjoly : merci à toi & bon week-end.
uneleveblahblahblah : bonne nuit.
CRC
Yeah. Love you too.
crc95: You seem to have an attraction for these people. I’ve been thinking of that poor Chinese baby. Donerail
Donerail : me too. The Chinese Baby thread was the funniest ever. (sigh)
CRC
crc95: As I recall, SalB had both of us standing in the corner on that one. Donerail
Be thankful no one used the "board" of education on you!!
SalB : yes Ma’am.

Well uneleveblahblahblah, with such open-minded spirits you seem to have, I’d respectfully suggest you NOT went to France, and stayed either in the US or Deutschland. See, I know how French kids are, I was one of them not so long ago, and I can tell you they are rather an easy-going bunch, who are not really feeling comfortable around tight-asses who try to tell them what to do and how to behave. So, if you feel like you’re gonna be able to be all GeorgeWBushy with people your age while you’re here, you don’t stand a chance. Compris ?
I think you must be really tired indeed.

crc95: She did seem to be wound a little tight. But some quality time in LaFrance will change that. I hope it will. If she went to Germany or Switzerland that would just fan the flames further. Donerail
yes, some quality time plus some good Bourgogne, a few kirs, a sandwich-baguette, some good coffee, a promenade on the Seine banks, and also a bunch of stuff that women tend to appreciate but that I can’t describe here if I don’t want SalB to ashcroft on my sorry azz.

"une élève vraiment, mais vraiment très fatiguée": What, what, what? What does exactly mean "Please stop having conversations on this forum"? You may be joking, my dear. Please, try to remember your french lessons and that sentence ( from Jean Jacques Rousseau if I remember well ):
" La liberté consiste moins à exercer sa volonté qu’à n’être soumis à celle des autres"
As so as I cannot resist to write on your sweet Forum.
No kidding, why don’t you want us to use your thread? Is this German humour ( very good indeed ), american imperialism ( it’s the wrong place to do it ), or did you fall on your head recently?
Everyway, I disagree with crc95: Please, come to France. You’ll learn, see and taste very good things.
Crc973: Sa to fé blada? Vini an nou payi, ini an ti maringouin ki ka atende to cor!
Montjoly.
crc95: It is amazing how you do that. Donerail
Hey! I’ve been catching up on your "converstions". I am an also a young, a little apprehentious, lady going to Paris in April of ’07. I was just wondering what the weather is like around that time april/May. My best friend and I are going and I just know it’s going to be amazing! I’m also wondering how the "night life scene" is amoung the French 20-30 range. And yes, also I cannot wait to even just sit at a cafe and just…enjoy life. That sounded awesome crc95. btw, I’m gonna get all American touristy here and I feel stupid asking , but what is Bourgogne and kirs? I’ve always had a kind of euro spirit about me. Anywho, sorry to write a novel, but I am terribly excited and wish I could take the trip sooner. And I also would appreciate any help you guys could give me. ~*One~* ldy strlight
