Why the Anomosity towards USA

I am very much interested in getting comments from anyone explaining "intelligently" and in good taste why there is so much anomosity towards America…I am serious…I see in the forums that this issue has never been addressed…just skirted around…AND,

I understand that we are feared, that other peoples look at us as bullies…but, it is a known fact that People might not LIKE power, but they do respect it, if grudginly…And someone might explain to me in an intelligent way WHY America seems to be the country that HAS to try and straighten out all of the world’s problems…

AND THE BIG ONE…If we are hated, despised and looked down upon by the majority…why do immigrants still want to come here in droves?

Train to Lyon/Vienne

Does anyone know how to take an inexpensive train to Lyon? A friend told us that he used to go for the day to eat at some great restaurants. When I looked into the train prices on the Internet, I couldn’t believe how expensive they were. Am I missing something? We had a wonderful meal at La Pyramide but hated the traffic on the highway, so wanted to train down from Paris on our next visit. Thanks! kmskeating@aol.com

Health/fitness clubs w/day pass

Does anyone know of a health club or fitness center that allows one to pay for a day or week pass? We usually stay in St. Germaine de Pres so one in the 6th or even the 5th would be great but we’d be willing to Metro to a good facility. Thanks much. kmskeating@aol.com
