After many hours over the pond (Atlantic Ocean), I arrived at the CDG airport and the ParisShuttle swirled me to the Hotel de Louvre in the center of Paris. I was welcomed by Madame, Sophie and the staff members with great hosipitality and kindness. My room sits over the courtyard and a nice breeze from the Seine River greeted me day and night.
Day 1 – I took the "Historic Core of Paris" Walk, beginning at Notre-Dame Cathedal where I studied its sculpture and windows, took in a Mass.
Across the river to the Ile St. Louis took me to some interesting shops and the ice cream parlor was a die for before looping thru the Latin Quarter neighborhood St. Michel and St. Germain. From the St. Michel a look across the river gave me a full view of Sainte-Chappelle church and it weathervane angel. I decided to venture closer to view the Gothic church and discovered it was made of glass like no other, magnificent!
I fine that walking in Paris is very good for the heart and soul. I lost 8 lbs. Day 2 tour will be coming soon. Have A Nice Day!

Hello Everybody,
As I drove with a bus to france, the first car I saw with a french regplate was a BMW. I laughed much about this. But I was totally amazed of the advance they got of our country. There was alot of natural gas. The first stay on a camping ground, for me the first stay on such ever, was a total blast, we made fun till late in the night, but the next morning we was restrained to do it again, from our driver. The second day was good, cause we haven’t to drive that long and we saw the first cathedral. It was amazing all the details builded in the 16th century, but the weather could be better. But it wasn’t depreesing me, cause since Ireland I know what changing weather is. It wasn’t good to photograph as well, cause the cathedrals were that huge that I would have needed a special lense, but on the postcards they are photographed very well in the nice weather as well, so my photoalbum is full with postcards.

Vouch, That was funny about first seeing a BMW. We saw lots of BMWs and Mercedes in France. We also spent a month in Italy and there we saw an amazing number of Peugeots with Italian license plates.
Did you just get back? We were there from Oct. 6 to Nov. 16th and there was a lot of rain, more in Italy than in France. The day we left the Chianti area of Italy they had floods and it got worse the next week. We were lucky we left when we did!
We spent our last week in Provence and there were very high winds (the Mistral). I love wind so actually enjoyed it, but the day after we left the Alpilles, they had 120 k winds that blew off roofs and uprooted trees. Glad we missed that.
I took lots of pictures on very cloudy, rainy and windy days. It’s hard to hold the camera still when the wind is bad. I did what you did . . . got lots of postcards for my album! Great idea.
Tell us more about your trip.
That’s very funny about your trip to Italy and seeing alot of Peugeots.
Frther on my tour I got to know my seatneighbour a bit better, but most of the time he was eating yoghurt or cheese that he got in a market there. It was very funny for me, cause we was joining the driver on his shoppingtours and it was very similar to our country, even the money was the same, except of the trees and faces on the back of them.
Then we was driving through a town, don’t know it’s name anymore, but we got almost stucked, cause our bus and the huge trailer behind wasn’t small. Anyways. There was a celebration going on on the street and we had to take evasive manuevers, but at last we got into such small streets that we had to turn the bus and only the skills of our driver helped us out. At last we drove a one way street in the wrong direction and our guide was running to the end to make sure that we hadn’t at last an accident with our "vehicle". I laughed really much this evening and I gladly think back at this.
This tour I made in 2002 in June. It was a little early for my yearly trip, but it was the most fun I had until then. The trip is in my memo that good, cause everyone in my company wanted to know everything about this trip.
Cheers
Sounds like a fun trip! We were in Brittany once driving south (or trying to drive south) and we got behind someone towing a huge sailboat. There was no way to get past it so we kept hoping it would turn toward the ocean and we would be free. Finally we came to a town and, just like you, there was a celebration going on and the poor fellow towing this huge sailboat was forced to turn onto these tiny village streets to go around the fete. Of course he couldn’t make it and got stuck. There was a truck in front of us and he turned into a side street so we decided to follow him on the assumption that truck drivers know the area. We went down one street and up another, each street progressively smaller, but finally . . . voila . . . we turned onto the highway on the other side of the little village.
For all we know, the sailboat is still there grounded on the tiny village street!!
Hey,
The most funniest thing I ever did on vacations, I did in Morlaux, were we stayed 2 days. There was a karaoke going on and I decided to sing before a bunch of people with my raspy voice, that is usually unable to sing, but I did it nevertheless. I tried to be cool, but Imissed the begin and I had to jump over some lines to get back with the sound again. But the most spectacular was that the people gave me a big applause, even that I sucked, with the voice as with the song, but I felt this happy afterwards and the others from my group. They stayed to hear me singing, or more kroak, and then they left, cause it was really loud in the room.
See ya
