43 Comments On looking for a Chinese baby
Wow. I don’t mean to look cruel, but these forums are really starting to attract all kinds of freaks. Amero-franc’s english and maxpower’s hallucinations are nothing compared to this week-end’s Hassam the-very-very-lonely-egyptian and today’s Kobe the-chinese-dude-with-the-lost-baby.
Is it just me or what ?
CRC
You know what crc, I am beginning to think you DO wear a beret and stink. you are just sooo French!
crc95: You know our nuances so well. Sure you aren’t from Boston? Donerail
maxpower: Behave yourself.
Donerail
yeah maxpower, and since you’re so American, maybe you can start rescuing poor Kobe by attempting to retrieve his baby ? Go max go !
lol
CRC
LOL crc95!!!!
I send news donot want to court sympathy of everybody and hope everybody quarrel over in the forum . just want to help my mother, I do not want to see her cry sadly .
Hey crc, you have a sense of humor! Since everybody knows Frenchmen
don’t know what humor is, I guess you are not french. so I must take
back what I said about you. sorry about that.
How about man-u-nice knowing what lol means. I am impressed!
You’re right minpower, I don’t have a sense of humor, anyone in this forum knows that.
But hey, guess what, I’m learning thanks to you. Cos you’re funny after all : you’re just one big joke.
CRC
Oh thx max, I could even ROFL, or LMAO or even ROFLMAO maybe pushing it to ROFLMFAO, but IMHO it is way too complicate, a single LOL will do.
lol!
well boys let me wish you both a Happy Bastille Day. Too bad you can’t come to the nice party at the french embassy in D.C.
Its good food and drink and its all free. Can you believe they invite
me? Good going with the humor, you both should be very proud.
well gotta go and have another Grey Goose, God that stuff is good!
I don’t know about you guys but it feels kind of strange posting
in this spot, this poor Chinese guy is checking back hoping to hear something. I am not going to post here again.
Kobe, all I can say is good luck.
Kobe, If you are serious about this, contact the Welfare home and see where they sent the baby in France. Then contact the Social Services authorities in that town in France. I don’t think they will be allowed to help you, but different places have different rules on adoptions so you could at least contact them and ask.
Perhaps your mother would be happy again if she could help another baby? That might be easier for you.
I wish you good fortune.
Forum: WOW!! And I had nothing to do with this one. With the exception of Kobe, everyone seems to be having a good time. Now, if only Amero-franc would show up. Donerail
Come on people, be sensible, neither the guy’s post nor his story make any sense. Read it carefully again, and it feels like watching The Monty Pythons’ Holy Graal.
1) why & how could an adopted baby be shipped ALONE to France by his foster mom
2) why & how could the baby be kidnapped or disappear
3) the best actions to be taken are to contact either the Chinese police, or the Chinese Foreign Affairs, or the Chinese Embassy in Paris, or the French police, or all of them at once. So what’s this all about ??
4) why on earth should we here know the baby’s whereabouts
5) where are the pictures
And all this coming from a Chinese guy who holds the same name as a rape-suspect American basket-ball player. Now you tell me if something’s not rotten in the kingdom of Denmark.
Donerail, I’m kinda sorry you missed this thread, cos we really could use the wise opinion of a Nam vet / former hippy on this one …
And to all of you Americans, for the record : we don’t wish ‘Happy Bastille Day’ in France, I’ve never EVER heard that, none in his right mind here would dare wish ‘Joyeux 14 juillet’ to anybody. Manunice, you back me up on this. Hey maybe it’s something we could do, I don’t know, but right now, nada.
CRC
Unfortunatly crc95 is very correct, we don’t wish eachother a happy 14 of july, how sad… however, I really do apreciate that u guyz wished us to have a good one, that always mean alot to take a break in the argument and the difference of opinion…
crc95, Give the guy a break. Obviously English is not his first language. He said as much as he could say. I can only imagine what most of us would do if we had to post in Chinese!
He did not say his mother shipped the baby to France. He said his mother was taking care of the baby for some social service / welfare agency. It was probably the Chinese equivalent of foster care. He gave the distinct impression the agency sent the baby to France. One can only assume the baby was adopted by French parents and they came to pick the child up. This is done quite frequently here in the US. People adopt a baby from a foreign country and then go to the foreign country to get their "new" baby. It really is common.
There was no indication the child was kidnapped or flew to France alone. He probably thinks he posted the pictures or perhaps he will send pictures if you e-mail him.
If he lives in China, he probably only knows Kobe is a famous basketball player. Basketball is becoming very big in China so why not adopt Kobe’s name.
The remaining question is, "Why would he post here and think we would know the child?" That, I can’t answer. He may have posted on every French web site he could find in hopes someone could help him. Knowing adoption agencies and their policies, I don’t think he’ll find the baby but stranger things have happened. He does need to contact his local authorities first, as you suggested.
If you don’t say "Happy Bastille Day" to each other, do you say anything at all? I think Americans just say "Have a Happy . . . whatever" all the time. It’s a national obsession, like smiling all the time. It’s not a bad habit . . .
SalB,
Ok, it makes more sense if you analyse it this way. Still, some dark spots remain.
As for le 14 juillet, as we call it here (it would be interesting to do a survey to check how many people exactly know what is being celebrated on 14 juillet), no, we don’t wish anything at all. Some people go to see the fireworks. Others attend to the traditional ‘bal des pompiers’, mainly in rural areas. But most of us just enjoy their day off. Cos you know, it’s France : we don’t get that much vacation time after all
CRC
crc95: I hope SalB doesn’t read this but I have a couple of theories and suggestions. (1) Kobe didn’t say how old the kid was, only that it was a baby. There is a chance the kid could very well be Amero-franc. Anyone else think so? (2)If the kid isn’t Amero-franc, maybe we could put Kobe in touch with Amero-franc. That wouldn’t help find the kid but it would definately take Kobe’s mind off the situation. And maybe Kobe could get Amero-franc to write a letter to the Chinese authorities. English and French aren’t his strong points. Maybe its Chinese. (3) Maybe Kobe’s mum could adopt Amero-franc.
One last thing before I forget. I didn’t realize you didn’t say "Happy Bastille Day" to each other. Then I did some reading and I think I know why. I thought the storming of the Bastille was something like raiding Alcatraz or one of our big-league prisons over here. I found out there were only 7 prisoners there who were "liberated:" 4 forgers, 2 muggers, and one pervert. I guess it was the thought that counted. Now lets find the kid. Donerail
Donerail : nice post. Interesting how you should mention it. The Prise de la Bastille is one of the most glorified moment in French history, yet, when you take a close look at it, it’s truly one of its worse : one big moment of cowardice, cruelty, brutality, drunkenness, and general stupidity. But I’m thinking, there probably are many moments like that in the history of any nation.
About the kid : I sent minpower over to try and recover the baby. He was recently spotted wearing dark shades and an overcoat, and roaming through the streets of the XIIIè arrondissement. I’m starting to worry : I’m afraid he might end in one of those cheap spring rolls.
CRC
crc95: So far so good. It seems like SalB has not seen our posts.
LaFrance is not alone in experiencing growing pains with respect to liberty and equality. 66% of the people during our Revolution could have cared less.
I hope maxpower (is minpower a recognized nickname?) finds the kid. Would he mail him/her back or FedEx or how does that work? I bet if he emailed Kobe, that Kobe could tell him where to wire transfer some money for the postage.
Donerail
What IS the matter with you guys?! You are so . . . guy!
Because I donot know how to paste the attachment, so pics of her arenot uploaded to the forum. a few days ago, I had gone to the welfare home, but the president did not tell me contact way .
bad luck.
Yes, she is really adopted by a pair of French married couple,I have her photo that takes with her French mother, it would be better if I could get in touch with her French mother now
wow SalB you had it all right !!
CRC
Can you tell me some other famous websites of France?
Maxpower: If crc95 wears a beret and stinks, then YOU are a FAT, ugly, loud American who spends all his time drinking 6-packs of Budweiser beer and watching the Simpsons on TV.
oh god I’ve JUST watched the Simpsons !! I love the Simpsons, they are still very popular here. What they did is they kept the funny voices in the French dubbing, and that caused a big success.
CRC
kobe09089, I don’t want to discourage you, but many adoption agencies do not want foster parents to contact the adoptive mother. If the agency wouldn’t help you, they probably promised the adoptive mother they would not tell anyone who she was. Hopefully, your mother is feeling a bit better by now. Is it possible she could take care of another foster child and that would make her feel better? That would be much easier.
The baby is in France and you are in China. It would be very expensive for your mother to visit the baby now. It might be better if she just found a new baby to take care of . . . and there are many babies that need someone to care for them so your mother would be doing a very nice thing.
It’s something to think about.
If you want to post photos, try http://www.ofoto.com/Welcome.jsp where you can set up a free account and post pictures.
To find other French web sites, do a Google search on France and French. That will give you many sites, hopefully even some in Chinese.
Good luck.
SalB,I really thank you for providing so many valuable suggestion and help for me very much.
I have two American friend too, I find that actually most foreign friends are very easy to get along with after after associating with them .
best wishes.
crc95: Now be honest. What is it about the trials and tribulations of kobe that makes you want to talk about the Simpsons? Donerail
Donerail, have you been reading Tomothy Leary again ???
lol
CRC
crc95: Heeyyyy mannnn. Zup. Donerail
just now,I had uploaded some pics of her.

crc95: What do you think? Looks a lot like amero-franc. Donerail
LOL now that was just plain mean !
CRC
I CANNOT believe this thread is a year old already. Wow, the baby must be in college by now, selling noodles or VCRs. Sigh.
CRC
crc: Happy and belated Bastille Day!! The last I heard, the Chinese baby had forged adoption papers and was trying to get into Southern California. I just found another word that the Administrator won’t allow. I tried to refer to Bush as m0ron. Donerail
donerail: why would you TRY to refer to Bush as a m0ron, when he already IS a m0ron?
What’s up with this filter anyway? We never seemed to have need of it in the past
Maybe the Admins feel the need to auto-censor our colorful posts?
LVB: I didn’t think of that. Maybe the Admin was trying to censor me because my verb tense was incorrect. Donerail
donerail: Your "verb tenses" can be very "colorful" at times…
crc: Tell me that the heat and humidity is not getting to you. Vivre le France. Donerail
