Hi,
Here is my trouble, i m a french guy, i met an US girl half a year ago, i went to visit her few times and now we would like to establish a serious relationship, that is mostly living together.
As my job situation in france is much better than her, we decided the best way would be for her to move in france.
From what i read, as an US citizen, with only her passport, she can come in france for 3 month but then need to go back to US for 3 month before coming back in Europe.
One solution would be to ask for a long stay VISA to france, but i m unsure if the reson "I want to live with a french guy" is enough to ask for it and i m worried about the fact the long stay VISA could be rejected. The long stay VISA also raise the purpose of the health insurance, what are the possibilities on that subject ?
Another way could be to be married before asking for VISA, but we would really want to try to live together for few months before deciding to get married which is i think understandable.
We are looking for more informations about how to do that, the faster the better, living 5000 miles apart is really a pain !
All advices welcome !
Thx,
David

Time to get married. Regards, Donerail
David,
I think you’re right, you should try for a few months before getting married. Since your bride-to-be can come to France for 3 months, why not give yourselves those 90 days to try it out?
That way you’ll see if not only you are made for each other but also if your fiancee is made for Paris, or elsewhere France as the case may be…
Believe me, if she makes it far away from home during for those three rainy and cold winter months, she’s a keeper :-)))
Best of luck.
