Any ideas on how easy or difficult it would be to buy tickets for the French Open when I arrive in Paris on 23 May? Do the French allow people to ‘scalp’ tickets outside Roland Garros? The week that I’ll be in Paris is during the opening rounds so it shouldn’t be too crowded or difficult to find tickets but since this is my first time to the French Open, Paris and France I don’t really know. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

hi there….anicab..
I was in Paris at this time in March and april of 2003. I bet the weather will be so that you could get a Scalper ticket in
front of that Roland Garros beautiful stadium….but don’t take my word for it. I didn’t go inside…but I bet it is prettyier than the Berkely TennisClub by the Claremont in Oakland.
Thanks for your reply danairozo. I had all but given up on any feedback on this site. I guess there aren’t too many tennis fans out there. My sister was in France for the World Cup in 1998 (I think that was the year) with only a couple of tickets but managed to buy tickets at every venue she tried throughout France. Some were for amazing seats too and she didn’t have to shell out too much for them. So I think I’ll take my chances based on her experience. By the looks of the Roland Garros web site the grounds look beautiful and the grand stadium is huge. I’ve watched this tournament on tv for years and have witnessed some awesome matches from afar. I’m looking forward to actually being there to witness them first hand. The Claremont in Berkeley is a gorgeous place. The winery I work for is being featured at a winemaker dinner there very soon. I’ll have a look at the tennis club while I’m there. Thanks again.
