I am new to this forum and being a french leaving in the US find it very interesting. I just remembered a great place Where my wife and I stayed during our honeymoon: Chateau d’Ecutigny en Bourgogne.
Francoise and Patrick are very nice poeple and there food is fantastic.
The price is great too.

jissou: Thanks for the tip. How long ago were you there? Donerail
Donerail: I was there in October 2000. They don’t have that many rooms so a reservation is required during the busy season.
Also, it is in the middle of the fields so a car is required to get there.
Let me know if I can help more.

jissou: Where exactly in Burgundy is it? Donerail
donerail, The Chateau d’Ecutigny is in Ecutigny about halfway between Beaune and Arnay-le-Duc (or slightly northeast of Beaune). I don’t know the chateau at all but the area is stunning. I checked the web site and couldn’t find any prices. Perhaps jissou will give us a hint as to the cost. It looked lovely!
Each room has a different rate however, it is not that spread apart.
The one we stayed in was around $85.00 considering that the dollar was way higher in 2000. It did not include the meal but it was a very honnest price.
If you are in the area, give them a call. Francoise speaks english very well (my wife enjoyed that).

Thank you. When we’re in the area, we usually stay in Beaune at the Hotel Grillon but it might be fun to explore a bit. I suspect we’d telephone about the rates before we went, but it sounds reasonable for what looks like a very nice place.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
