My thirteen year old son is dating a girl whose parents are from France. Her mom seems to realize that this is only puppy love and has giver the ok. Her father, however, is violently opposed. We live too far away from them for the kids to hang out in person. Now that school is out, they just talk on the phone constantly! So…is the father just a typical "I don’t want my daughter to date until she’s 30!" type of dad or are there some different rules for French teenagers? (if they can drink wine and go to the beach topless, why not let them date???) Just thought I’d check! If anyone knows, please tell me!

Set on a sprawling, 185-acre estate northwest of Paris, the 17th-century chateau was once home to the noble French Marshal Gen. Emmanuel de Grouchy, exiled to Philadelphia after leading Napoleon’s troops to defeat in the Battle of Waterloo.
Nearly two centuries and a host of aristocratic French owners later, American real estate mogul Olivia Hsu Decker bought the property in 1999 — four years before “The Da Vinci Code” — the book — hit the shelves.
Today, “People come with the book in hand and they literally go through each paragraph,” she said, adding that some even go so far as to recite the dialogue. Those visitors, Decker said, “don’t like being reminded” of the thin line that separates fact from fiction.

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I will be travelling to France as a part of an organised tour. But afterwards will be meeting up with my husband and children (ages 8 and 11) and returning to France for three days. My husband will be taking a tour to the landing beaches by himself. So what do I do with the kids? Our Hotel will be the Holiday Inn Bussy St Georges in Marne-la Vallee.
We will do Paris as a family when we first get there, then my husband will be tripping off on his own. Are there any places i could take the kids appropriate to their ages. (that won’t cost me a fortune?)
No, we are not interested in disneyland.
