Hi. You folks are on your own for a few days. We’re going to Sacramento to visit our daughter.
I know this is crazy since we live in California. I’ve been to Paris and London but I’ve never been to Sacramento. I’ve even been to Pierre, SD and Bismarck, ND but I’ve never been to Sacramento . . . my very own state capitol.
Now, you are on your own so no name calling while I’m away.
We are visiting France in July to see the Tour. We plan to begin our trip in the Loire Valley. We will be there for about 1-2 days. We are looking for lodging and transportation suggestions coming from Paris. After this point, we are headed to Grenoble where we already have hotel reservations. We plan to take a train from the Loire Valley area into Grenoble. After Grenoble, we are following the Tour to Lons le Saunier. We need to know how long this distance is since we are trying to leave Grenoble and get there the same day? Also, what would be our best mode of transportation? After this stage, we want to spend some time and visit Beaune. Again, how far is this from that point? And, any suggestions on lodging?
History and general description
The race was founded as a publicity event for the newspaper L’Auto (ancestor of the present l’Équipe) by its editor, Henri Desgrange, to rival the Paris-Brest et retour (PBP) ride sponsored by Le Petit Journal and Bordeaux-Paris sponsored by Le Vélo. In the early days of the race, it was a near-continuous endurance event. Racers slept by the side of the road and were required to avoid all assistance, but several competitors in the second Tour de France were disqualified for taking a train part of the way. These days, the tour is a “stage race”, divided into a number of stages, each stage being a race held over one day.
Many possibilities can create an upcoming war possibly. With France and Germany wanting to drop Tiananmen Square sanctions against selling weapons to China this could bring a new huge dilemma. For one why does China even need that much arms of destuction anyhow?

As many of you well see the French don’t take too well to Bush and call him a Cowboy.
How do you thing the French took to President Reagan? He was both seen as cowboy and a conservitive. Do the French, however, see Reagan in a different light. Reagan to many was more classy. The Presidential Talor (A Frenchman) says that he thinks that Reagon was the best President he ever served. He thought he was very classy and polite.
DO you think the French see the other Coyboy in a good light?

Portugal (AP)After 90 minutes, England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was leading France 1-0 – and then Zinedine Zidane struck with a free kick and game-winning penalty in three minutes of injury time.
France 2, England 1.
“Suddenly, one free kick and one penalty destroyed the evening for us,” Eriksson said. “Football is tough sometimes. We are a little bit down in the dressing room, but it is important tomorrow morning that we keep our heads up.”
Instead of leading Group B, England is at the bottom with two group matches remaining against Switzerland and Croatia.
