We will stay in Corsica the last week in june (2008). Is Calvi a good place to stay with children, or is there a better destination. We will not have a car so it has to be a town near where the ferries arrive.
Would also appreciate some suggestions on hotels, camping etc, if possible a quiet place near a beach.
Thanks

Hi,
My partner and I are planning to go to France from mid-Janurary 2008 for just under 2 weeks. We'd like to get some advice in planning our trip. We'll be heading to Paris for a few nights initially, and then we're thinking of staying in either Epernay or the Loire Valley for a few nights as well. Is anyone able to advise how many days is sufficient to check out the sites both around Loire Valley and Epernay? Our idea for now is head ot Epernay for a day trip or so, then stay somewhere near the Loire Valley for around 2 nights. (or are there more sites at Epernay?)
Thanks for your response.

It is a green and pleasant Norman province that has much in common with the mild climes of the English South-West and is well away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities.
The French mime artist Marcel Marceau has died at the age of 84, his family has announced.
The performer was known around the world for his portrayal of a white-faced clown with battered hat.
Born in Strasbourg in 1923, Marceau studied under mime master Etienne Decroux in Paris.
His daughter Camille said he died on Saturday evening, adding that details of the burial at Paris's Pere Lachaise cemetery would be given out later.
