Hello! I am planning a 10-day trip to France in May and I have a few questions. I’d like to start and end my trip in Paris, but would like to travel in between.
What is the best way to travel from Paris to Bordeaux, Bordeaux to Provence, then from Provence back to Paris?
While I’m in Provence, I’d love to see lavender and flower fields. Which is the best area in Provence to find this?
Thank you so much for your help!
We will be staying in Lisbon, Portugal in May. Would like to visit Paris since neither of us have been to France. What would be the best way for us to go from Lisbon to Paris….we have about 7 or 8 days to spend in France? And would you recommend a tour while we are there or could we visit the sights on our own? We need to return to Lisbon for our flight back to the US.
Thanks for any suggestions!
I highly recommend reading "French Women Don’t Get Fat" by Mireille Guiliano. Even if you are not wanting to lose weight, her stories are great, and she has a lot of little descriptions that any francophile would love! Also, it’s an interesting contrast between the way Americans approach eating and food and how the french (especially women) approach eating. Fascinating stuff!!
Would love to hear if anyone else has read it!

Any ideas on how easy or difficult it would be to buy tickets for the French Open when I arrive in Paris on 23 May? Do the French allow people to ‘scalp’ tickets outside Roland Garros? The week that I’ll be in Paris is during the opening rounds so it shouldn’t be too crowded or difficult to find tickets but since this is my first time to the French Open, Paris and France I don’t really know. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

I have perused the forums for weeks in preparation for my first trip to France. The information that I have gleaned from the forums have been so very helpful. My undying gratitude to all. What I haven’t found is much info about restaurants in Paris. I have looked at the Michelin and Zagat guides online but there really is nothing like getting a first hand recommendation. This includes bistros, wine bars, and the special occasion restaurants. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

My wife and I are going to Paris this April 2005. I have read about the Paris Visite pass and thought that was what I needed to purchase, but I just read something about a Carte Orange pass. It’s supposed to be cheaper than the Paris Visite pass. I had not seen anything about this pass before. Is anyone familiar with it? What do you recommend and why?
Thanks for your help!
