Why is everyone obsessed with Paris?
Hi, I’m new to this forum but I hope regulars won’t mind me asking, why is everyone so obsessed with Paris? France has so much more to offer but whenever you look at forums – not just on France.com – 90% seems to be people visiting Paris! Nice city, but anywhere less representative of the ‘real’ France you could not hope to find! What does anyone else think?

Computer decodes Mona Lisa's smile
The findings? Mona Lisa was 83 percent happy, 9 percent disgusted, 6 percent fearful, and 2 percent angry, according to the British weekly “New Scientist.”
Still, scientists will probably never know what made her feel the way she did.
The computer software, developed by Nicu Sebe at the University of Amsterdam and researchers at the University of Illinois, examines key facial features, the journal reports.
Sebe loaded average, neutral expressions of female faces into a database, which the software used to compare the painting against, says the “New Scientist” Web site.
Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece is housed at the Louvre, in Paris, France, and is the museum’s top draw.

Strike!
As you may know, the ultra privileged 25%¹ of the French workforce who live at the expense of the rest of us, just decided to give up with working simulations and get back to their default mode once again: strike.
The reasons they certainly formulated for that are not really important, and the bottom line is always something in the spirit of "less work, more pay, no responsibility for what we do and what we don’t, and hey, you cunts keep paying the bill all right?"
All of that thank to various state enforced monopolies that allow these thugs to regularly take the rest of the society hostage².

As we noted previously, November 9th and 10th were a strange couple of days. Certain internet sites seem to have been blocked, presumably by French authorities. Les 4 Vérités has published an explanation, which although can?t be proven, seems believable. Though it was written by Emmanuel Ratier who dabbles in nutty conspiracy theories such as the US government having been behind the 9-11 attacks, he has written books on the functioning of politics that are taken seriously.

Emily the stowaway cat travels home to the US from Paris in style
Emily the cat is back after flying home in the lap of luxury. The curious cat who wound up traveling to France in a cargo container touched down at the Milwaukee airport on Thursday, greeted by her family and a horde of reporters.
A Continental cargo agent handed her over to 9-year-old Nick
Herndon, son of the cat’s owners, Donny and Lesley McElhiney. Emily meowed and pawed at reporters’ microphones as the family answered questions.
“She’ll be held onto a lot all the way home. And then when we get home, too, she’ll be cuddled a lot,” Donny McElhiney said.
Her sumptuous return in business class on a Continental Airlines flight was a sharp departure from her trip to France where she was found thin and thirsty but still alive.
