We're more alike Than You May Think
I watched a French movie today, not pornography, and realized just how much alike we are. The US is a democracy, surprise.Pres. Bush has a 29% approval rating. Unless he can pull a rabbit out of a hat this next election, the Republicans are in trouble. Europeans seem to think that the churches in the US are running this country. Nothing could be further from the truth. For example, abortion is legal foe any reason up to to time of viabilty. Abortion is the thorn in the side of the evangelicals since 1973. Also, the evangelicals are against gay rights, yet gays in this countries have all the civil rights as anyone else. Now they want gay marriage, so far only Mass. has it, but time is still going on and I’ll bet in five years gay marriage will be an accepted fact.
Is the Roederer Champagne house in Reims or Epernay?
I am planning a trip to Paris in October and would like to take a 1day trip to Epernay or Reims. I want to visit a champagne house or two and one I would definitely like to visit is the Louis Roederer house where they produce Cristal. Does anyone know where it is located? Thank you.

I am starting to book my trip to Paris and need help figuring out where to stay. This will be my first trip to Paris and I would like to stay somewhere that is centrally located to everything, everyone tells me that you can walk everywhere in Paris but I just don’t want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere..any help would be appreciated.
Not sure if the time of year matters but we are planning on the first week of October 2006…how is the weather around that time??

Zidane propels France to finals
MUNICH, Germany—One more time, Zinedine Zidane stepped up to the penalty spot, 12 yards from another shot at glory for himself and France.
Dripping with sweat, Zidane converted the kick in the 33rd minute after Ricardo Carvalho was whistled for a foul on Thierry Henry, giving the French a 1-0 victory over Portugal and a berth in the World Cup final.
France, which was supposed to be soccer’s over-the-hill gang, meets Italy at Berlin in a matchup of blue—France’s Les Bleus vs the Italian Azzurri.
The French will be making just their second ever appearance in a World Cup final—the other was their famous 3-0 victory at home over Brazil in 1998. Italy, trying for its fourth title, will be in its sixth final.

My teen son is dating a French teen girl–HELP!
My thirteen year old son is dating a girl whose parents are from France. Her mom seems to realize that this is only puppy love and has giver the ok. Her father, however, is violently opposed. We live too far away from them for the kids to hang out in person. Now that school is out, they just talk on the phone constantly! So…is the father just a typical "I don’t want my daughter to date until she’s 30!" type of dad or are there some different rules for French teenagers? (if they can drink wine and go to the beach topless, why not let them date???) Just thought I’d check! If anyone knows, please tell me!

France unveils national rival to Google Earth
France unveiled a Web site (www.geoportail.fr) on Friday that allows people to access detailed satellite images of the country and said it offered more detail of its territory than Google Earth (www.earth.google.com).Google Earth, which allows Internet users to zoom in on locations around the world, caused concern when it was launched last year among governments who feared terrorists might use the service to help plot attacks.
