I'm a teenager and I'll be traveling this July to Paris, Provence, the Riviera and Spain. I know that in Europe they are more "trendy" than we are in the US and I don't want to look like a tourist. However, I still want to be comfortable since we are going to be walking a lot. Most importantly, I want to look cute while not frying in the hot weather. I also want things that are versatile so I can pack less.

1 Read MoreI am an American who has been reading about France for a few days now just out of curiosity. It really struck me when I watched the movie Sicko.(i dislike michael moore but his videos are very blunt) I began reading more about Europe in general especially about France. I took art history when I was in high school along with French Language. So I have long had a fascination with France it seems beautiful its people seem very laid back and even more they take a stand for what they want. They do something about bad politics.
As I said I am very inspired and am just wondering what its like to be a Stater in France. What is the general realistic attitude towards Staters right now, I know that our politics are far from agreeing but are our people clashing also?

Also, is Nice the best place to get a train while in that area, on to Italy?
Any help appreciated.

I will be visiting Paris for 6 days in March. The trip is a present for me and my husband. I am American and have never before been outside the U.S.A. I am nervous becase of this: I am a very overweight woman, even American standards. By Parisian standards … well, let's just say that I expect to stand out-not in a good way. I do speak some French, which I have been practicing, and I do dress well.Â
But still, I've been having these nightmares in which these skinny Parisiennes, clad in the latest haute couture fashions eye me disdainfully and snooty waiters refuse to serve me. I know I'm probably just being paranoid about the stereotype of Parisian rudeness, but really, what am I letting myself in for?

She rose to prominence in the late 1990s when she was cast in the Luc Besson production Taxi (1998) as Lili Bertineau, a role that she reprised in two sequels. She then earned very good reviews and the attention of cinephiles via her portrayal of twins who exchange their lives after one of them dies in Les Jolies Choses.
