I am searching for someone who may know of a relative from france who went on holiday to Ireland in 1988, around the last week in february or first week or so in March. One town they visited was Sligo in the North West of Ireland and stayed in a Hostel Called The "White House" in the Town Centre. One jacket that this person wore was a yellow, hooded longed sleeved obviously well prepared for Irish weather. They are possibly from the south of France, male, about five foot and five inches in height, shallow skined, dark brown to black hair. This person was probably on a mid term break from collage and in his early to mid twenties in age. I have a cousin whom is giving me this description of this person whom they met at that time. They are now quite ill.

The trial of President Jacques Chirac’s closest lieutenant on financial sleaze charges has snowballed into a major affair that has engulfed France’s judiciary.
Allegations of spying, burglary and threats, combined with a bitter verbal campaign against the trio of judges who sentenced him, have tarred the trial of former Prime Minister Alain Juppe, the head of state’s protege.
Juppe, 58, was handed an 18-month suspended sentence for abuse of public funds after he employed seven people for Chirac’s party whose salaries were in fact paid by Paris town hall.

Nicolas Anelka would be welcomed back into the international fold by French Football Federation president Claude Simonet.
The Manchester City striker has revealed he would be keen on an immediate return to the France squad.
With Euro 2004 on the horizon and France needing solid support for Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet, Anelka revealed he would attempt to resolve his differences with France coach Jacques Santini.
Anelka said: “I want to be a French international again. When you get older, you change, and you grow up.
“I never closed the door to the French team.”
Anelka’s announcement was well received by Simonet who hinted that he would be happy for Santini to call up Anelka for the friendly against Belgium on February 18.

Jean-Michel Lorain, 45, said Thursday he regards his three stars as a vindication for his family-owned restaurant on the edge of the Burgundy region southeast of Paris.
The restaurant, La Cote Saint Jacques, was demoted to two-star status in 2001 during a major renovation program that forced the chef to spend too many hours out of the kitchen.
The other two restaurants to move into the three-star club are L’Esperance in Saint Pere-sous-Vezelay and Loges de l’Augergade in southwestern Puymerol.

I’m going to Paris the first week of March. I will be staying there for 10 days and I won’t be going to any other countries except for two day visit to London. (which I already got a train ticket for)
I was thinking about buying the France Eurail Select Pass but now I’m having my doubts. It seems like even Pass holders have to pay for riding certain trains, then what it’s the point of buying the pass here if I’ll still have to pay overthere. I’m only planning to travel to Riems, St Malo, and maybe Bordeaux. If so, would you recommend to buy the pass here or just buy each ticket when in France. The Pass the I was going to buy is priced at $215 (1st class).
What would you recommend?
Hi from Georgia. Does any one know the population of Laval or how big a city it is compared to Rennes? I would like to pick up a rental car in Laval rather than Rennes as Rennes is so big to drive to the American Brittany Cemetery in St. james. Do you know how far it is from Laval to St. James? Thanks ya’ll.

But the public debate has spread to much broader issues including immigration, women’s rights, education and concerns about Islamic fundamentalism. “This issue over the veil has become a flash point for so many tensions,” said Sharon Gracen, head of the Office of the Congregation at the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris.

According to a copy of a statement due for release on Wednesday, the commission will also formally warn Italy that it may face similar legal action unless it stops handing helicopter contracts to the local manufacturer Agusta without inviting competitors to bid.
