Leonardo Da Vinci’s painting of the mysterious lady with the mysterious smile was moved Monday to the Salle des Etats room, where lighting and climate control were improved in the euro 4.8 million (US$6.1 million) four-year makeover designed by Peruvian architect Lorenzo Piqueras.
“It’s completely new, completely different,” said Louvre spokeswoman Veronique Petitjean.
The setting provides more space for the painting than did the much smaller Salle Rosa down the hall, where it was before the move.

1 Read MoreHi. This afternoon I couldn’t get on France.com even though I had no trouble getting on other sites. This evening the "Today’s" and "Last 24 Hours" sections are empty. Is this because everyone had trouble getting on today or are you working on the web site?
Thanks. I was just curious.

Priceline.com has a name-your-own-price thing and I wanted some advice on it. Should I try it? If so how low should I go in nameing the price? Has anyone had any experience in dealing with priceline? Also if that is not the way to go where should I look for cheap tickets?
Any comments would be wonderful.
Thanks,

Hello! I am planning a 10-day trip to France in May and I have a few questions. I’d like to start and end my trip in Paris, but would like to travel in between.
What is the best way to travel from Paris to Bordeaux, Bordeaux to Provence, then from Provence back to Paris?
While I’m in Provence, I’d love to see lavender and flower fields. Which is the best area in Provence to find this?
Thank you so much for your help!

What would be the best way for us to go from Lisbon to Paris….we have about 7 or 8 days to spend in France? And would you recommend a tour while we are there or could we visit the sights on our own? We need to return to Lisbon for our flight back to the US.
Thanks for any suggestions!
3 Read MoreI highly recommend reading "French Women Don’t Get Fat" by Mireille Guiliano. Even if you are not wanting to lose weight, her stories are great, and she has a lot of little descriptions that any francophile would love! Also, it’s an interesting contrast between the way Americans approach eating and food and how the french (especially women) approach eating. Fascinating stuff!!
Would love to hear if anyone else has read it!

The week that I’ll be in Paris is during the opening rounds so it shouldn’t be too crowded or difficult to find tickets but since this is my first time to the French Open, Paris and France I don’t really know. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
