Located at the heart of France’s hexagonal territory, Auvergne is a sparsely populated land of volcanic plateaus and large valleys. Unlike the Alps to the east or the Pyrénées to the southwest, its highest peaks reach only 6,000 feet above sea level and are free of snow in summer. The local authorities? efforts to safeguard the environment have made Auvergne one of the last protected zones in Europe.
Before going to Auvergne, familiarize yourself with its history and its gastronomy.

I need to buy a few furnishings for a small studio apartment in st gervais, ie sofa bed, curtains, crokery, mattresses, fridge, tv , dvd,  and cannot find any web-sites for furniture stores in this area. Has anyone any knowledge of the shops near this town, I will be travelling from Geneva to St gervais when I visit. I understand that there are some shops on the a40 , but I do not know anymore than this. I have also been told that some specialise in furniture for small apartments which is what I will be looking for.
Any homework I can do now will help enourmously for when I come over, more time to relax !

Would also appreciate some suggestions on hotels, camping etc, if possible a quiet place near a beach.
Thanks

I would like to know which company runs the ferries between Nice-Corsica, to be able to find out when and how often they leave for Corsica and back. Thank you
