Do you really want advice about moving to France or do you want a pen pal? If you want advice, you will probably get more by posting in English since you say you are English. Most of us here speak a little French but not a lot of French.
On the other hand, if you want a pen pal, there is a section specifically named Pen Pals. If you post there, it is very active, I’m sure you would get some answers in both languages.
If you want advice about moving, tell us what you need to know and perhaps we can point you in the right direction. The first thing you need to know is that it isn’t easy to get a job in France if you are a foreigner. Are you British or American? That makes a difference too. Is this a permanent move or just for several months or years?

"The material provided in the Blue Book, Guide for U.S. Citizens Residing in France, has been compiled to provide Americans living overseas with information and assistance concerning administrative and personal matters. You may consult each subject as a separate information sheet, or download the entire guide by clicking on the Blue Book icon located at the end of this section. If you do not find the information required, please contact the Office of American Services by e-mail at: citizeninfo@state.gov"
It will tell you a lot about what you need to know before moving. Hopefully some of the French people on this site will also help you, but this is a start.

I think the really hard part for foreigners moving to France is to get the work permit. Having to face French bureaucrats for months on end will most probably discourage all but the most eager ones. It’s meant to be a test of will, I guess…
In any event, it is really best to move to France if you don’t have to work there. Unless you have a company that moves you there, or you are independently wealthy, moving to France will be a very demanding, very difficult task which will require a lot of patience and good will on your part. There are always those that go to France and stay there, somewhat staying under the Fonctionnaires’ radar, but this is not advisable, for the obvious reasons.
SalB’s suggestion is a good one and the website seems very interesting. Because I’ve had many American and British friends who have attempted this, I can tell you that you are looking at a long, tortuous road ahead. I’m not saying that the experience is not worth it, I’m just warning you to double up on your patience resources and keep your chin up for the next few years. There will be days when you regret to have taken this decision, and other days where you’ll be glad you did. It’s a long-winded process and you should not jump to it without knowing what you’re getting yourself into.
