Most of the French people on other Forums say it’s okay, just to find out where the protests are and to avoid them. A few have recommended staying out of the streets at night but again, I think that may just be in the protest areas.
They need a permit for the protests and the routes are posted 48 hours ahead of time so it’s not hard to avoid them. I think you’re safe unless you decide to go watch one and take pictures.
We actually walked through a protest a few years ago (by accident) and had no problems. I did NOT take pictures.
I sure hope it’s okay. We have some friends there this week. I can’t wait to hear about their trip!
