Donerail : next time you’re in Lyon, you should experience a game at Gerland stadium. If it’s not a big opponent, tickets should be easy to find and not very expensive, so I’d advise you to do it, it will be a wonderful experience, trust me.
On another subject, I couldn’t help notice that you passed the 1,000 posts on this forum. How does it feel ?

crc97320: Funny that you mentioned the 1000 posts. I had planned to make the event a memorable one but I lost my focus. Currently I am depressed. The weather here in Boston sucks after I just experienced two gorgeous weeks of weather in LaFrance. And then there is the problem of litter and trash in the streets. The fashionable suburbs are OK but the vast majority of the USA is not fashionable suburbs. The various cities and towns are pig styies compared to your average city, commune or town in France. I wonder why America has become a such a nation of pigs. It didn’t seem to be that way many years ago and each year it seems to get progressively worse. The roads also suck and I am apt to earn the big dirt nap when I am riding the Harley. We have signage that is moronic at best. It is indeed fortunate that we have the Red Sox. I don’t know how the rest of the Nation manages to cope. Maybe they haven’t been to La France. Donerail

Donerail : cheer up buddy. There’s no need for depression.
1) the weather sucks in France too, I’ve just watched the forecast and it will be 9°C in Lyon tomorrow morning (French Guiana : 29°C)
2) trash and litter : I don’t know if our roads are cleaner than the roads in the US, but if they are, keep in mind that this cleanliness comes with a a cost, a cost that puts us in shock every october when we receive our local tax notice. Besides, I don’t find inner city streets too dirty in the US. In the ghettos maybe, but ours are dirty too. What’s a clean ghetto anyway !
3) I like signage better in the US than in France. I like how the roads always follow cardinal points, if you’re equipped with a compass in your car, which I had last time, then you can’t get lost. Things get more complicated in big cities, but that’s the same in any big city around the globe.
4) About the Red Sox : glad you have them. We have Olympique Lyonnais, the best team of the Universe. Unfortunately, our coach, whom we owe our victories, decided to leave. Sad, sad move.
