I found this location to be just right. Up the hill from the Moulin Rouge taking Houdin then left at Rue des Abbesses. I liked the Fruit market and markets down the street and the very nice artist area by Sacre Coeur. The price was right here, too.

How much was your accomodation per night in Euros? Are the prices per single rate?

MichelD….I was in this Hotel for three nights two years ago in March. In US dollars things were different so it was a bit cheaper I admit. It was only about 65.00 USD then. At that time, the Euro was 90cents. Now the Euro is $1.32. I recently looked into this hotel, and I believe it is still a good rate compared to many in a good area. If you’re at the Moulin Rouge, then go Straight up the Hill on Rue Houdin…and you won’t get lost. If I can help with any other information let me know. I would say it is good to pay $6.00 for a good street map of Paris and look at it before you go to these places.
PS: Single rate? Yes. I had a single rate and a Double Bed I recall. The room was up a winding staircase and was kind of small. There was all the amenities though…Telephone for Int.LD, etc. You can reserve a room with two single beds, too, at this place for about the same price. It was also a Clean hotel…clean when I came in, too. I had some trouble a few nights later when I came back from Munich at "Relais de Paris" nearby. The Bed hadn’t been changed at All upon my arrival that evening.
