Chateau de Madieres

Protected as an ancient monument, the Chateau de Madieres was once a fortress which, according to National Archives dates back to 1181 — under the reign of Philippe-Auguste. Located on the very last slopes of the Southern Cevennes, it enjoys a privileged situation, in the heart of the Vis gorge. Behind its superbly austere walls, the interior is absolutely charming, the courtyard, the breakfast on the terrace, the wardroom with its fireplace, the furniture and works of art… everything is beautiful.
