Accross the river from Chaumont is this exquisite hotel in an 18th-century, turreted, vine-covered hunting lodge on 180 acres. Rooms in the main house are furnished with antiques which creates an aristocratic air. Those in the adjacent carriage houses have a mix of old and modern furnishings that hamonize with the exposed brick walls and gabled ceilings. Service is relaxed and unpretentious and the restaurant is first-class.
