Arlatan (d')

As packed with history as the ancient city in which it stands, the hotel d’Arlatan is in the heart of the protected ancient quarter of the Gauls’ capital. This house was built over part of the Constantin basilica and already contained many roman relics within its walls. Excavations carried out in 1988 unearthed a roman drain and a statue plinth from the first century B.C. at the level of the Roman town. Sixteenth century vaulted ceilings, seventeen century coffered ceilings and a monumental fireplace were uncovered in the rooms above the ground floor. In this historical setting, many hundreds of years old, this place reserves a privileged welcome. A stay which marries the charm of the old world with the amenities of a three-star hotel. The rooms look out onto the roofs of the “vieille ville”, onto a tranquil garden or onto a terrace. The provençal furnishings add a note of warmth to the hieratic nobility of the surroundings. A must !
