We are going to spend Easter in Normandy. We are travelling with our two kids, girl age 4 1/2, boy age 2 1/2. We will be crossing the channel by Ferry from Dover, and driving all the way from there. Any tips for kids in Normandy? Things I should not go or do? Are the hotels/restaurants OK with kids?
Many thanks

Hotels and restaurants have no problem with children. Most French people love children and are very helpful to their parents. I think you’ll probably get better service with the children as the waiters and waitresses will do anything they can to help you.
If you haven’t been to France before, they often spend two or more hours eating lunch and dinner so be prepared. Take along something to entertain the children or plan to picnic for either lunch or dinner. That will make it a little easier on the kids. I expect you’ll get faster service too as the wait staff will be very sympathetic to you.
I think you’ll all have a wonderful time. Good luck.
SalB,
Thanks very much for both of your replies, here and in the lodging forum.
I have been in France before, a couple of times driving through to go to Spain (choosing different routes and taking the opportunity to spend a few days in the meanwhile), but we didn’t have kids then.
Cheers
