Russian in NYC searching for a French penpal

Bon jour, all..

Just browsing the France.com website, thought it’d be nice to have some French penpals (female, preferably.) I even suppose it would be more of a one-sided deal, since I am not really trying to learn Francais, as I’m already preoccupied with Hebrew and Spanish.

I haven’t yet had a chance to travel to France, (travel is a passion of mine, been to Italy, Austria, Israel) and am eagerly awaiting my next opportunity. Ah, the people, the literature, food, the museums, the promenades, oui.. A true boullion de culture.. (Merci, Bernard Pivot!) The narrow cobblestone Nicean and Parisian streets.. Ohh.. Is it possible to have nostalgia about something that hasn’t been experienced yet? Quebec & Montreal, however, have a tendency to put you in a French state of mind," I adore traveling there, time allowing.

I love all things French, to a point, (not a "Francophile&quot. I don’t really associate myself with the American/French rift, at least on the grounds and to the degree that Americans base it on. (Probably worth to say, I don’t associate myself as a "full fledged American", as such, far from it, actually. I am just a Russian Jew who lives in NYC. (More on politics and associations later.) Because I am originally from Russia, I don’t have the tunnel-vision, isolationist viewpoint that a lot of Americans tend to have, as if there’s no world outside the shores of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

I am 25, have lived in NYC for more than 14 years now, work in finance. I would like to find out from an insider’s perspective about the French culture, I love hearing what different people all over the globe have to say, (and if you want to improve your Anglais.. [free! ] If interest peaks, please, email to FAUSTUSS@EXCITE.COM Au revoir, mon cherries,
