I am considering visiting my son who is working in Paris for 7 months. Is December 17 -25 a poor time to visit? I have visited in July/August twice. Is March – May a better time.

marise: Paris anytime is gorgeous. I have been there in March, April, June, August, and November. I would imagine it would be magical at Christmas. Donerail
Marise : Donerail is right, Paris is nice any time of the year. Like in any major city (well except in CT maybe), the holidays are a time for lights and decorations on the street. It’s also a time for good food. Shopping might get a little crazy, especially on saturdays, but I’d advise you to visit the Galeries Lafayette store at Haussmann, they put out some really nice decorations during the holidays season.
Might be cold of course, but not Chicago cold.

Yes visit gallery lafayette but be brave because it is full of people.
