The Domaine des Forges
The 27 holes golf course is surrounded by a superb château and small housing developments composed of luxuary villas; very spacious bungalows with large gardens.The Domaine des Forges spreads over 180 ha with the village des Forges forming the heart.
At the clubhouse you will find the reception area for the golf club and villas, where bilingual staff will be delighted to tell you about the area and that will ensure that you have enjoyable holiday. Also at the clubhouse, you will find a pro-shop where golf equipment can be bought or rented.
The clubhouse renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere offers a restaurant “La Bergerie du Golf†with terraces overlooking the golf course; It is open all year round and has a selection of choices for either the golfer in a hurry or someone who has more time to laze around. Suitable dishes are available for every member of the family. Our jazz evenings, “dine to musicâ€, are proving very popular, and are fast becoming a gathering for golfers and locals alike.

The course
The Golf Club Château des Forges is surrounded by a 180 ha domaine on which a superb golf course of 110 ha has been designed by the architect Eriksson.
The Château des Forges Golf and Country club is one of the most beautiful golf courses in France. Giving you access to play 3 perfectly well maintained golf courses.
It is easy to spend the whole day at the golf Club. The Restaurant “La Bergerie du Golf†can be the perfect “in between two courses†break! There you can enjoy a snack, the meal of the day or a menu “à la carteâ€, watching the superb views overlooking the golf course or sitting by the fire on a cold winter’s day. Then you can be off for another 9 holes, then come back to the clubhouse for a drink with your friends and family. A perfect day outdoor !
The golf des Forges is the only 27 hole golf course of the department playable all year round thanks to the investment in a drainage system. Made up of three 9 hole courses, it offers different difficulties to challenge every golfer.The blue course fairly flat with woodland will suit all levels. Confirmed and middle handicap players will be delighted on the white course which accommodates several water hazards and finally the red course with its large undulating sloping greens will be a challenge to the most confirmed players.
The area
Situated in the mid-west of France in the heart of Poitou Charentes, the Deux Sevres is a land of culture and festivals, an area not yet discovered by mass tourism.
"Le Pays de Gâtine" is located in the centre of the department and is an ideal place to spend your holiday and relax. It is a very peaceful area with authentic and rural landscapes, ponctuated by small villages, farmhouses and Castles. Walking or cycling by the riverside of The Thouet or on a country path, taking part in cultural events or practising golf, La Gâtine has a lot to offer its visitors seeking quietness within a beautiful environment.
Situated nearby the Golf course are the villages of Ménigoute, a local village with an international Ornothological Film festival or Vasles, also known as Mouton Village, the sheep capital.
The domaine des Forges is a golfing paradise for golf amateurs, where all levels are welcome. Other leisure facilities are available such as a heated outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a petanque area and table tennis.
Practical Informations
Situated between Niort and Poitiers, the Golf Club Château des Forges is easily accessible by the Motorway A10, use exit 31 from Bordeaux or exit 29 from Paris.
- First possibility – exit 29
After the toll, follow the sign to Parthenay, the N149. At the traffic lights in Vouillé, turn left, towards Vasles Mouton Village
Drive through Chiré en Montreuil and Latillé.
Towards the end of Latillé, turn right direction Vasles Mouton Village. -After 10kms, you will
reach Vasles. At the stop, go straight, towards Les Forges (5kms).
Drive through the village of les Forges. Before leaving the village, the Club house is signposted on the left.
- Second possibility – exit 31
After the toll, follow the signpost to Poitiers, The N11.
After 3 kms, turn left, the D5, towards Sanxay/Ménigoute/les Forges.
3 kms further turn left, on the D521, towards Ménigoute.
Drive through the village of Saint Germier, towards Menigoutes/Les Forges- At the stop in Ménigoute, turn right and drive through the village, follow the signpost to Vasles Mouton Village/Les Forges.
After 5 kms, you'll arrive in Les Forges. At the entrance of the village, take the first right, the Club house is 200 meters further.
