Hello. Two points, (1) What do you need to learn about France? (2) You would probably find making friends easier on the Penpal thread right below this Talk thread. Click on Forums and scroll down to Penpals. There are a lot of people looking for friends there so you will be fine.
It would help them to know exactly what you want to learn about France though!

Click right above this on the tab marked "forums" and go to the Forum Home Page. Count down to the tenth thread (second one under Miscellaneous) where it says Penpals. Post there and you should pick up a few replies.
You might also try the Thorn Tree Forum on http://www.lonelyplanet.com and see what you find. Many of those posters are American but you may find some French friends too.
Did you Google France and French? You will get thousands of web sites and a few of them may be what you are looking for.
